My name is Henry and I come from China. Currently, I am studying at Watkinson in Hartford, CT.

The major reason I joined the Global Studies Program is that there are some topics I am interested such as the global health. Being a doctor is always my dream, and I believe that discussing and researching about deeper field in medicine will be very helpful to find my path.

Additionally, the Global Studies Program also offers a great opportunity of service for the local community. Currently I am volunteering at Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT. My job is to discharge patients with wheelchairs. I love this job because this is the best opportunity for me to fulfill my passion as a medical worker to help patients. I feel happy when relief and joy appear on their faces when they are leaving the hospital. When I recall all the kind words and conversations from almost every one of them, such as an old man who just has had his cardiac surgery or a mother who has just given birth to a newborn, I can feel the warm blood surging in my body.

Thirdly, I wish I am able to improve my skill of public speaking a lot and make some new friends during the time spending on the Global Study program. Because of a lot of discussing and outside activities that the Global Study will have, I would have more practice to improve my speaking skills. Meanwhile, since I can meet many new members in the program and have some group activities, it is a great chance for me to enlarge my social network.
